Did you know Your Jugular Vein Extends To Your Brain . Jugular Vein Carries Blood From Heart To Brain . There are two types of jugular veins . First internal jugular vein and second external jugular vein. both are connected to our brain and they cover all over the brain. These Veins are used as blood supplier to brain. These Veins are present in pia matter which is closest structure to our brain . 

The closest Part Of your brain is Pia Matter . The pia mater is the layer of tissue closest to the surface of the brain. 

Pia Matter : 

The pia mater is the innermost layer of the meninges, a protective membrane surrounding the brain and spinal cord. This delicate, translucent layer is merely 1-5 micrometers thick and composed of fibrous tissue and cells. It closely follows the contours of the brain, conforming to its intricate folds and grooves, and supports the blood vessels supplying the brain. As the innermost meningeal layer, the pia mater plays a crucial role in shielding the brain from mechanical injury, regulating cerebrospinal fluid circulation and maintaining a stable brain environment. Its permeable nature allows for the exchange of substances between cerebrospinal fluid and brain tissue, facilitating nutrient and oxygen delivery to neurons. Damage to the pia mater can lead to serious complications, including meningitis, subarachnoid hemorrhage and brain edema, emphasizing its importance in maintaining brain health. Secondly as we know that brain is part of human body in which thoughts are processed. The cerebrum Of the brain is used for thoughts processing .

The cerebrum is the largest and most complex part of the human brain, accounting for approximately 85% of the brain's total weight. It's divided into two hemispheres (left and right), each controlling opposite sides of the body.

Cerebrum Functions are including Control and Coordination, sensory Processing, thought and Emotion, communication, problem-Solving, Memory and Learning.

So in surah qaf verse 16 of Quran God (Allah) says : 

Indeed We have created man, and We know whatever thoughts his inner self develops, and We are closer to him than (his) jugular vein, (50:16)

God is saying in context that he is closer to human thoughts than his jugular vein . Today we know That Jugular Vein is most closest to human brain and God is even more closer to The thoughts of a human (i.e brain) than his jugular vein. Author Of Quran acknowledges that jugular vein is closest to human thoughts or brain.

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ وَنَعْلَمُ مَا تُوَسْوِسُ بِهِۦ نَفْسُهُۥ ۖ وَنَحْنُ أَقْرَبُ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ حَبْلِ ٱلْوَرِيدِ ١٦

Other translations : 

Indeed, ˹it is˺ We ˹Who˺ created humankind and ˹fully˺ know what their souls whisper to them, and We are closer to them than ˹their˺ jugular vein.
