Waves like mountains scientific miracle of Quran

 Allah says in surah luqman 31:32

And as soon as they are overwhelmed by waves like mountains, they cry out to Allah ˹alone˺ in sincere devotion. But when He delivers them ˹safely˺ to shore, only some become relatively grateful. And none rejects Our signs except whoever is deceitful, ungrateful.

Quran speaks Accurately even in a metaphor . Allah is saying that waves look like a mountain . Scientifically it's correct . 

"Mountain waves are a phenomenon where strong winds, blowing perpendicular to large mountain ranges, create powerful gusts and turbulence in a localized area near the foothills. This occurs when stable air is forced to rise over the mountains, only to descend rapidly on the other side, forming waves similar to those created when fast-moving water flows over a boulder in a river. Typically, mountain waves develop during the cooler months (October to April) when low-pressure systems and stable air masses are more prevalent. The southern Appalachians experience peak mountain wave activity in December, with minimal occurrences during summer months."

"Mountain waves produce strong wind gusts that typically affect a narrow zone in the foothills, where the wave intersects the ground. While people outside this area may not experience significant wind, those living in the affected corridor can encounter hurricane-force gusts. For instance, wind gusts around 100 mph have been recorded at Cove Mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park during strong mountain wave events with southeast winds within a stable air mass. Similarly, gusts over 80 mph have been measured at Camp Creek in southeast Greene County. The terrain profile, with steep slopes on the leeward side and gentler slopes on the windward side, contributes to the occurrence of strong winds at these locations. Mountain waves can also occur on the eastern foothills with northwest winds, although high winds may be stronger on the western side due to steeper slopes descending into the Great Tennessee Valley. However, this remains theoretical due to limited observations near the mountains."

Does ocean waves can ocean appear as mountain?

Ocean waves can appear as mountains due to their massive height and rugged shape, created by strong winds, storms, or ocean currents. This phenomenon occurs when:

- Waves build up enormous energy and height, sometimes reaching over 100 feet tall

- The wave's face becomes steep and vertical, resembling a mountain slope

- The wave's crest becomes rounded and bulbous, like a mountain peak

This happens because of the transfer of energy from the wind to the water, causing the waves to grow and take on a mountainous appearance. The sheer force and power of these waves can make them appear as towering mountains in the ocean.
